Dot's Dots

For the last 2 days I noticed what seemed to be a small tray of small brownie balls. I picked at a few, and thought to myself it must be one of Dorothy newest creations. I guess they weren't complete yet so all it tasted like was brownies lol. Today she finished off the frozen brownie balls with a layer of semi-sweet milk chocolate. They looked so cute I had to take a picture. Dot explained that semi-sweet was a cross between milk chocolate and dark chocolate, so it wasn't too sweet to overwhelm the brownie taste, and it wasn't too bitter from the dark chocolate. she even topped it off with 3 different types of Decor sprinkles. The freezing preparation in the beginning, was to make covering the dots easier. The temperature change would harden the coat of chocolate, and allow for an even coat of semi-sweet chocolate. I even got to make 4 of my own.

Old Photo Retouching

Ok, so my mom had these old picture frames that she borrowed from my grandma of my dad and a his siblings. She asked me to scan them in, but the frame was glued shut so I didn't want to damage it by tearing the back paper. Scanning the image was also out of the question, because of the glass in front. So... I ended up taking a picture of it. the glass in front kept on reflecting my image, so it was a little tricky shooting at an angle. I hate working with old pictures...

Photo Printing Frenzy

So I finally got around to clearing out the right side of my desk to make way for my printer(courtesy of apple). The right side of my table was formerly used to dissect my Sony laptop, but after months of no sign of return, I will let him rest in peace :( . I waited all day for my mom to come home so she could get me into costco to print out pictures for my class tomorrow, but by the time she got home it was closed. I didn't feel like going to kinko's again to print out pictures. I had done this once already and at 5 bucks a pop, I'd rather just print out my own. The printer had come with a few 4x6 photo papers to demo, so after printing out a few, I was addicted. What a good marketing scheme! But unfortunately, it was a Sunday, so all stores close early, and I ended up going to Kinkos anyways to buy photo paper. At Kinkos they don't sell small packs of photo paper, I guess I went overboard and ended up spending $45 on a pack of 4x6's and another pack of 8.5x11. The pictures turned out ok. I guess if I don't want to go to costco, I can print at home. Ink might end up costing me more in the long run.

Los Amigos vs Santiago

Last night we came out to Garden Grove HS to support Los Amigos Varsity Football player #58 Daniel Tran! As promised, I brought out my 5Dmk2 with a huge 100-400mm zoom lens. Everybody was amazed at how big my camera was. It was a fun night, even though we didn't win. It was a super close game that could've turned either direction(21home 25away). It's ok Daniel, we'll get em next time. That night, I had a good experience shooting with low light sports. It's no easy task. I think majority of my photos came out junk, but I still managed to capture a few highlights and portraits of Daniel. Most of the time I was switching my shutter speed, f stop and iso on shutter priority. Oh well, watching the game brought me back to my old high school days. One of Dustin's friends had my old high school sweater on. Go Mater Dei! Good job Lobos lol
